Welcome to Lights!

We’re so glad you made it to our website and hope you can join us in person soon.

Lights is the youth group of St Thomas’ Anglican Church, North Sydney (for students in Years 6–12).

Lights is all about the life-transforming love of God shown to us in Jesus Christ. If you don’t know much about God or Jesus, that’s fine – Lights is a great place to find out!

The best place to start is to come along on a Friday night (during school terms), 7-9pm. We hang out over supper after Lights, so parents can pick up anytime between 9-9:30pm. We’re a friendly bunch and we know you’ll have a great time.

On a Friday night, you can expect some combination of the following:

– A Bible talk given by one of our leaders
– Discussion in age/gender groups
– A time of singing and prayer
– Games
– Time to hang out over supper

You’re welcome to participate in all these things, but you won’t be expected to answer tricky questions, sing up the front, pray out loud, or anything like that. Also, make sure you eat dinner beforehand (you can grab ‘$4 Thai’ – satay chicken and rice – from the restaurant ’63 Degrees’ on Ridge St if you’re in a rush!)

If you’re thinking of coming this Friday, you can let us know by filling in this form:

And if you’ve got some more time, here are some great videos you should check out:

If you have any questions, feel free to look around the website or get in touch with our Youth Pastor Gerard O’Brien by emailing gerard.obrien@st-thomas.org.au or calling him on (02) 8908 4822.

We would love to see you at Lights soon!
